The IBA will host its annual Spring Career Day on Saturday, March 30th at the 502 East Event Centre in Carmel.
Stations are asked to arrive and have their booth set up by 8:45 a.m. New this year, the IBA is offering stations the opportunity to improve their booth setup. The day will begin at 9 a.m. with a session from Laurie Kahn of Media Staffing Network who will discuss hiring “best practices” with GMs and staff. Following Laurie’s session, at 11 a.m., the IBA and IASB will host the college awards ceremony which will run until 12:30 p.m. At 1 p.m., students are encouraged to stay for a panel discussion on how to better position themselves for broadcasting careers. The one-hour panel will be hosted by Hall-of-Fame broadcaster Patty Spitler.
From 2 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., stations will meet with students and other job seekers during the career fair.
Students can register here.
The IBA also is asking for stations to provide staff to review on-air materials. If you have someone interested in assisting with review radio air checks and TV reels, please contact Sam Klemet, [email protected].
