TV and radio stations across the state of Indiana are on the front lines of covering breaking news and sharing alerts, but they also provide vital information about their neighborhoods and residents that isn’t available elsewhere. Broadcasting is truly a local service, which is why the IBA is going to honor the great community work of our TV and radio stations. The IBA is now accepting nominations for the new Community Service Awards to recognize outstanding achievements by stations impacting their listening and viewing areas. “We encouraged stations to apply for this new award so the IBA and the rest of the state can recognize and learn more about the committed work you are doing in your communities every day,” said IBA Executive Director Dave Arland. The simple application (available at the link below) asks to describe how your station(s) have made a difference in your local communities. Applications will be accepted through June 30. Winners will be announced in July and ceremonies for those winners will be held throughout August in each of the nine Indiana Congressional Districts. |
