The Indiana Broadcasters Association has officially selected the 2026 Best Newscast Day for this year’s Spectrum Awards.
To ensure a fair and consistent judging process, all Best Newscast entries—both Radio and Television—must be newscasts that aired on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
The designated Contest Day allows judges to evaluate news coverage from the same news cycle across stations statewide, creating a level playing field while showcasing the outstanding journalism taking place throughout Indiana.
As you prepare your Spectrum Awards submissions, please be sure your Best Newscast entry is taken from Thursday, June 18, 2026. We also encourage all entrants to review this year’s updated category descriptions and submission guidelines before entering.
Reminder that the Spectrum Awards submissions are now open, with entries due by Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET.
