Barbara Boyd is remembered for her upbeat style and ability to find humor in many of her TV consumer reports. She also applied that same approach to her own mastectomy, delivering her report from her hospital bed just days after surgery. That was over thirty years ago when local TV rarely dealt with such subjects in detail. Indianapolis’ first black female to report and anchor on TV news, her busy career at Channel Six covered twenty-five years.
