CUMULUS MEDIA INDIANAPOLIS is in search of a hard-working Intern for the Smiley Morning Show on WZPL. Audio is at our core, but we also specialize in events, giving back to the Community, creating digital content, engaging with our fans & listeners and much more! Required Skills

What you’ll be doing:

• Assist WZPL morning hosts (The Smiley Morning Show) in development and delivery of compelling content appealing to the target demo
• Manage various programming projects as assigned by programming leadership team
• Produce commercial and promotional content as assigned
• Fill-out and file various programming reports as assigned
• Screen morning show calls effectively and interact with listeners on the phone
• Assist in Providing a steady stream of content for WZPL website, social media platforms and podcasts
• Assist in executing on-air promotions, contesting and prize coordination
• Operate WZPL control board and other related studio and production equipment as needed
• Participate in various Programming and Promotions meetings as requested
• Assist in planning, organizing & execution of promotional events and digital campaigns
• Execute proper technical and physical set-up and breakdown of remote broadcasts and station events; ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on the fly
• Represent stations at events in an upbeat, outgoing, and friendly manner
• Data Entry of Promotional events, contesting and proprietary programming research
• Connect with listeners on the phone, our social media platforms, online and in person
• Daily social media engagement; website and digital content generation
• Participate in station Programming, Promotions, and Sales meetings and events when necessary
• Assist the Engineering Department with tasks & projects as needed

Education Required

What you’ll bring to the table:

• Currently enrolled in a communication and/or media field that requires an internship
• Socially informed and perceptive; up-to-date and in tune daily with the local and national trends
• Demonstrated upbeat personality, great customer service, strong mindset, and positive attitude
• Excellent verbal and written communication and a desire to assist others in all aspects of the business
• Demonstrated creativity and imagination
• Can work well in a team environment, enjoys collaborating
