Baldwin was chief news photographer at WFBM/WRTV. He was at Channel 6 for over 30 years and was named the News Photographers Association’s Photographer of the Year numerous times in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s. He was perhaps best known for his photography of the October 31st explosion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum. From black and white film, he pioneered color film and later transitioned into videotape and live “insta-cam” on-the-scene reports. During his time as chief photographer, the station and he won many awards for the excellence of their news photography.
