Indianapolis television sportscaster Don Hein had a 33-year run at WTHR. An athlete himself in high school and college, he worked three years at WMBD-TV, Peoria, Illinois, before coming to Indianapolis, where he covered multiple sports at every level. Hein was named Sportscaster of the Year three times by the Associated Press and United Press International, and honored nine consecutive seasons as Indiana’s best play-by-play announcer.
