General Job Description:
ABC57, Weigel Broadcasting’s news and weather operation in the South Bend market is seeking a broadcast meteorologist. You’ll have the opportunity to utilize the best equipment the industry offers – including a drone – to aggressively cover breaking weather situations.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Develop inventive weather forecasts for highly active weather market
Develop on-air graphics for clear and easy to understand weather presentation
Live reporting of weather-related events
Other duties, as assigned.

Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for job, if not currently employed by Weigel Broadcasting Co.

Required Skills

Comprehensive understanding of weather computers and software for dynamic storytelling
Strong digital presence.
Knowledge of WSI weather systems preferred
Experience with photography and editing preferred

Education Required

BA/BS in Journalism, Communications, Meteorology or related field
