As I wrote on my blog last week, lowest unit charge and most other FCC political rules apply to these races, stations need to be prepared to offer LUC and take care of other political obligations (including the political file) when they run advertising for these races,” Oxenford says. Indiana broadcasters should note the March 23 Lowest Unit Rate date, especially, for the upcoming May 7 primary election, and the national Lowest Unit Rate date on September 6 (for the November general election.)
