Eyewitness News, (WEHT/WTVW) serving the Evansville, Indiana, DMA, is accepting applications for News internships. Interns must receive college credit in order to qualify. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to gain real life experiences in a working newsroom, Internship can be tailored to fit the needs, interests and availability of the student.
• Shadow reporters, photographers, producers and other newsroom personnel
• Make calls to potential newsmakers to set up appointments and gather facts
• Answer phones and relay appropriate information
• Gather information from news scenes and news makers
• Log information received from news scenes and news makers
• Writes stories and reports based on information you or others have gathered
• Retrieve archive video and stories
• Pitch story ideas
• Set up interviews
• Work on writing, photography, editing, and other skills essential in a newsroom
• Basic understanding of video photography and editing
• Basic understanding of current events
• Must be able to receive college credit for the internship
• This is an unpaid internship
Currently enrolled in a program pursuing a degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
