National Weather Service Meteorologists Available Ahead of Tornado Drill

The annual state-wide tornado drill will take place Tuesday March 14 at approximately 10:15 AM. This is a live test of emergency communication systems and several Indiana television and radio broadcasters will be participating.

The warning will be sent using live TOR EAS coding, but it may be helpful to remind audiences that this is only a test. To give the public more of an insight into the purpose of the drill, the National Weather Service is making their meteorologists available for media interviews. The map above is broken down by regional contacts.

All of this is in conjunction with Severe Weather Preparedness Week, which runs from March 12 – 18.

In the event of severe weather conditions, the tornado drill will be postponed to Wednesday March 15.
