The Science of Programming & Talent Development

This fast moving and stimulating seminar details everything radio programmers need to know about getting more listeners in today’s digital world.   John Lund’s presentation provides:

  • Methods to upgrade the station’s presentation and formatics, increase audience engagement, and master the 3-M’s (music, mornings, and marketing). Programming strategies for attracting more listeners in 2019 are detailed for music and spoken word stations.   Whether you’re a programmer or manager in a rated or unrated market, you will benefit from the methods to garner greater TSL (time spent listening) to grow audience and advertisers.
  • What should every radio program director know about technology advancements today and beyond? Topics include streaming, smart speakers, video-casting the morning show, station mobile apps, and podcasting (radio reinvented).  ATSC 3.0 is TV’s latest mobile viewing tool, and yes, it will benefit radio.   What are America’s Top Formats, who listens, and why?  Millennials are the second largest generation in the US, and what do they want from terrestrial radio.
  • Air talent development. How to coach talents, develop the morning show, and improve voice tracking to sound live and local. How and why to get into content fast, creating appointment listening, promoting ahead (how and why), executing a great morning show, and how to conduct a productive air talent coaching review.

John Lund’s energized seminar is a multi-media show that “amps up” attendees with an exciting, positive presentation.  Programmers and air talents will leave with practical suggestions that they implement on their stations the next day.  General Managers will also benefit from understanding how programming and technology impact the bottom line.
