A panel of national experts is coming to the Indiana Broadcasters Conference to address the upcoming transition to ATSC 3.0 television broadcasting, with the FCC expected to rule soon on how broadcasters might voluntarily move to the NextGen TV system. Conference sponsor GatesAir is sending Market and Product Development manager Joe Seccia to explain the technical implementation elements for the new broadcast TV standard. LG Electronics consultant Madeleine Noland, who has played a key role in development of the standard, will offer her perspective on the new standard’s capabilities. And Cox Media Group VP of Technical Operations Dave Siegler will address how TV station groups are approaching the new capabilities of ATSC 3.0. The ATSC 3.0 session will take place during a “pick your topic” session at 10:30AM on November 3. Other sessions at the same time, aimed at General Managers and Engineers alike, will focus on the latest NextRadio developments for FM stations, and the AM Revitalization drive by the FCC that is just one element of media regulation modernization. |
