Carmel, IN – April 26, 2016 – The Indiana Broadcasters Association is awarding scholarships to six college students to help them pursue degrees in the field of broadcasting. This year, five $2,000 scholarships are being awarded to the following students to help pay for their education as they study the art of broadcasting.

Also being is awarded is the $1,000 Reid Chapman Scholarship given by the Indiana Broadcast Pioneers in honor of Indianapolis native Reid Chapman, who began in radio in Vincennes in 1943. For years, he was “Chuckles Chapman,” host of a long-running radio variety show in Indianapolis.

“The IBA has awarded more than $160,000 in scholarships over the past six years and we are proud to help fund the education of a new group of future broadcasters,” said Dave Arland, IBA Executive Director. “The recipients have all proven a commitment in the classroom and to the broadcasting field. They will be valuable assets to the radio and television communities once they complete their degrees and launch their careers.”
