Director of Sales – Evansville, Indiana.
Nexstar Media Group, Inc., America’s largest local television and media company, is seeking an experienced, results-oriented leader to serve as Director of Sales for WEHT ABC 25 / WTVW CW 7 and all-digital, mobile and social assets associated with TriStateHomePage.com, in Evansville, Indiana (DMA #107).
The right leader will have a proven history of growing revenue for both linear broadcast and digital products on multiple platforms. Responsible for all aspects of sales, budget(s) achievement, staff management, hiring, maximizing inventory, sales strategies, new business development etc. In partnership with the VP-General Manager, the DOS will set the tone for all aspects of local, national, political and digital sales initiatives while inspiring the team to achieve their personal and professional objectives. This opportunity requires an entrepreneurial mindset, competitive drive, and passion for creating solutions for customers using the power of Nexstar Media Inc. and Nexstar Digital assets. We have two LSM’s, ten sellers and other support positions reporting to the DOS.

The station is located across the Ohio River in Henderson, Kentucky. The market has good healthcare facilities, universities, community events, the Ford Center and the “Fall Festival” each October. The signal strength reaches counties in Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides leadership for the entire sales team – department
• Makes decisions regarding hiring, promotion and termination of employees
• Develops and executes sales strategies which result in exceeding revenue targets in local, national, digital, company wide sales initiatives, drives new business development
• Relationship builder with all stakeholders and Community involvement
• Manages inventory and revenue forecasting
• Manages recruitment and development of talented sales professionals
• Resolves customer complaints regarding sales and service
• Plans and directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and service programs
• Oversees inventory, unit rates, packaging – bundling assets
• Responsible for Accounts Receivable efforts by the Sales Department
• Performs other duties as assigned
Must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Required Skills
Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Minimum five years’ experience in media sales
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Experience guiding, directing and motivating subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
• Experience establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them
• Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
