Broadcast Maintenance Engineer (REQ-28843)
Job Description
WXIN/WTTV, a Nexstar Media Group station, has an opening for a full-time*, on-site Maintenance Engineer to work in our Indianapolis location reporting to the Director of Technology.
The Maintenance Engineer will have a strong broadcast news background. The candidate will have a comfort with information technology and a passion for learning new technology in a fast-paced and challenging news operations environment.
Required Skills
*Full-time of 40 hours per week. Depending on candidate, this may be 5 x 8 hours weekly or 4 x 10 hours. Position will require participation in a rotating on-call status
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Installation and configuration of equipment into equipment racks.
Follow direct instructions and follow CAD drawings and cable database to install and troubleshoot.
Repair and return to service cameras, video and audio switchers, and satellite uplinks.
Primary first responder for building issues for short term remediation.
Support news, traffic, sales and master control operations.
Perform other duties as assigned
Intermediate computer & networking skills required
Must be able to work efficiently under deadlines and time constraints
Must be able to work independently
Must be able to work flexible schedule including nights, holidays and weekends
Must be able to lift 50 lbs and climb 20’ ladder.
Education Required
Bachelors’ degree in engineering or computer science preferred; relevant work experience required
Minimum 1-3 years’ experience as a Maintenance Engineer for a broadcast television station
