IBA Conference Hosts Announced

The Indiana Broadcasters Association is proud to announce our hosts for the 2019 Indiana Broadcasters Conference Spectrum Awards and Richard M. Fairbanks Hall of Fame Luncheon.

Patty Spitler, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame last year, and Radio One of Indianapolis host Dani D. will announce the winners of the 32nd Spectrum Awards.

Jen Steele of Brewer Broadcasting in Richmond will be on stage interviewing the 2019 Hall of Fame inductees.

About Patty Spitler

Emmy Award-winner Patty Spitler, host, reporter and producer for “Pet Pals TV” and “Great Day TV,” has had a 42-year career in radio and TV broadcasting. Patty came to Indianapolis in 1982 to co-host “Indianapolis Afternoon” with Dick Wolfsie on WISH-TV Indianapolis, and eventually expanded her talent to become a noon news anchor. She retired from WISH in 2004.

In 2009, she was approached by a producer to join “Pet Pals TV,” which now airs not only on WISH-TV, but also on 23 stations nationwide.  The program focuses on the relationship between animals and humans.

Patty is now host, reporter and executive producer of “Great Day TV” which airs weekly on WISH-TV and presents human interest stories and stories of intriguing people from all walks of life.

She is a 2018 inductee into the Indiana Broadcaster Pioneers Richard M. Fairbanks Hall of Fame.

About Dani D.

Dani D is one of the key afternoon voices in Indianapolis.

Born and raised in Chicago, Dani D was proud to serve as a weekend talent for the city’s own 107.5 WGCI-FM.  While attending Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Dani received her first opportunity in radio at the school’s student run station, WIDB.net. Because of an internship with Power, Dani landed a job producing various radio shows.

Eventually, she landed a job with iHeart Media’s WGCI Chicago working Saturday and Sundays.  Along with being a radio host, Dani does numerous voice overs, hosts events, and is heavily involved with community service.

Dani D can be heard on Hot 96.3 WHHH-FM, Monday through Friday from 3 to 7pm and Sat from 1 to 4pm.

About Jen Steele

Jen Steele has been with Richmond’s Classic Hits, 101.7 The Point for more than six years as an air talent, music director and program director.

Born a Canadian, but a Southerner at heart, Jen has also worked all over the southeast, in cities like Birmingham, Charleston, SC, Raleigh, Memphis and Savannah/Hilton Head. In her twenty years in broadcasting, she’s filled every position from traffic reporter to production director, news anchor to air talent, and imaging director to  management.

She also likes pie.
