Whether it’s covering breaking news, providing high-quality entertainment, or serving as the primary source of local information, broadcast stations in Indiana are the voice of Hoosier communities.
Which is why the Indiana Broadcasters Association is proud to announce a new awards program recognizing TV and radio stations that are making a difference in their communities. The IBA Community Service Awards will be held throughout the month of August in each of the nine Indiana Congressional Districts.
Monday, August 14: Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton (District 1)
Tuesday, August 15: South Bend Gillespie Convention Center (District 2)
Wednesday, August 16: Fort Wayne Country Club (District 3)
Monday, August 21: Purdue Memorial Union in West Lafayette (District 4)
Tuesday, August 22: Hoosier Gym in Knightstown (District 6)
Wednesday, August 23: 502 East Event Center in Carmel (District 5)
Monday, August 28: Tropicana Hotel Evansville (District 8)
Tuesday, August 29: Monroe Convention Center in Bloomington (District 9)
Wednesday, August 30: Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis (District 7)
Applications will be accepted Monday, June 12 through Friday, June 30th. Winners will be announced in early July and they will be invited to attend a luncheon in August in their congressional district along with a member of the community organization they partnered with on a local initiative.
“We know that Indiana TV and radio stations positively serve their communities every single day and we want to honor their commitment to service,” said IBA Executive Director Dave Arland. “The IBA Public Service Awards are an exciting way to highlight the immeasurable impact TV and radio stations have on the people and neighborhoods they serve.”
