Keeping the public informed is the heart of broadcasting and making sure the news is reported timely and, most importantly, accurately is essential to building trust with viewers and listeners.
On Saturday, September 22nd the Indiana Broadcasters Association is hosting a free program (including lunch) to give Indiana journalists and news directors tools for better reporting.
The IBA Broadcast News Seminar will be held at Flix Brewhouse in Carmel (2206 E 116th St, Carmel, IN 46032) beginning at 9 a.m. with Al Tompkins of the Poynter Institute. Al will host a pair of sessions on “What journalists need to know about Guns and Ammo” and “How to Fight Fake News.”
Following Al’s sessions, lunch will be served, and attendees are invited to stay for a special showing of the movie Broadcast News.
Seating is limited, so registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
