Promotions Manager/Business Development Specialist

Job Description

Woof Boom Radio LLC, a locally-owned radio group based out of Muncie, IN is seeking a Promotions Manager/Business Development Specialist with experience in radio, television, or product marketing/sales experience. This position will be responsible for the promotional workings of all six of our radio stations (WLBC, WERK, WMXQ, WBKQ, WMUN-AM & FM and WHBU-AM & FM), along with managing and developing new business.

A strong marketing background with a passion for creativity and executing big ideas, along with sales skills, is necessary. Solid communication skills and strong work ethic is necessary.

Required Skills

Responsibilities of this position include the following:

• Represent Woof Boom Radio LLC’s values, mission, and vision.
• Identify and execute opportunities for Woof Boom to monetize existing and new promotional campaigns.
• Supervise the operational aspects of the promotions including event management, contesting, execution of sales promotions, and annual station events.
• Put together station promotional proposals for Account Executives to take out to clients.
• Oversee tracking of selected station promotions.
• Plan, prep, manage, and execute Performance events.
• Act as the community liaison for Woof Boom Radio prior to meeting and establishing a relationship with our community partners.
• Manage, schedule and facilitate trade fulfillment for catering and other outside service partners for promotional events.
• Attend and contribute to monthly promotions meetings and follow up on necessary action plan for upcoming promotional events and contesting.
• Coordinate select contesting and promotions on-air, online, mobile app or onsite.
• Coordinate purchase and inventory of promotional giveaway items and promotional supplies.
• Create contest rules, waivers, and release forms for major contests.
• Responsible for managing existing client accounts and developing new client accounts.
• Responsible for hitting a sales budget monthly and annually.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
• Continuously input account information into client account portfolios.

Education Required

Requirements of this position include:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing or related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• A minimum of three years’ experience working in media or marketing field.
• Ability to create, communicate and implement strategies and vision.
• Proven track-record of running successful and profitable events and promotions.
• Strong sales and negotiation skills.
• Ability to grow the business and find new revenue opportunities, as well as create productive, long-term promotional and event relationships.
• Excellent communication skills.
