News Reporter/Anchor

Job Description

Duties include:
• *Live on-air newscasts in a variety of shifts with a primary focus on afternoon anchoring.
• *Research, write, and record newscasts and articles for on-air broadcast and publication online
• *Record and edit audio for news consumption via phone, internet, and other sources
• *Maintain WOWO social media accounts as needed, including posting, and sharing of articles, interview podcasts, etc.
• *Monitor web and WOWO email for stories that need coverage, including social media, community contacts.
• *Create concise, thoughtful newscasts for PM drive and create thoughtful ways to move the story forward to set our morning team up for success.
• Other Duties as assigned

Required Skills

Skills Needed:
• *Adobe Audition, WavePad, Microsoft Word, WordPress, photography, audio editing (not required but a plus)
• *Must have a “team first” attitude, understand the broadcast industry and be nimble and flexible for scheduling and assignments

Education Required

1 year experience, or Associate Degree, or Bachelor Degree
