News Director/Sports Play-By-Play

Job Description

WITZ/WQKZ/JUAN has an immediate opening for a News Director. The News Director is responsible for generating radio newscasts on 107.4FM WITZ, 98.5FM WQKZ, and 99.1FM JUAN. Responsibilities include gathering news stories, meeting with local and state officials, attending government and school board meetings, among other responsibilities.

This position also includes the opportunity to do Sports Play-by-Play for Forest Park High School sporting events.

Required Skills

– ability to write and record news stories in a timely, relevant manor
– strong interviewing & people skills
– ability to quickly adjust schedules and newscasts based on breaking news
– willingness to hold flexible hours and attend city and county government meetings

Education Required

Two year degree in Broadcast Journalism or relevant experience.
