National Sales Manager

Job Description

Are you great at utilizing all sales resources including research, traffic, OTT, and digital platforms, to meet and achieve budgets? If so, we want to talk to you! We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, integrity and the highest level of customer service and sales skills.
This position reports to the General Sales Manager and has the following essential job functions:
50% – Works closely with station sales management and Gray National team to generate revenue for our four stations. You should be able to grow revenue and market share through non-traditional revenue, special projects/sponsorships, and digital platforms. Oversees along with station sales management, the National accounts as it relates to orders, booking, airing, billing and collection of all national business.
40% – Provides market insight and educates the buyers while also conducting sales negotiations with all national clients. You must also be able to train and develop the skills of their National Sales Assistant (NSA). You will work closely with NSA and media buyers to resolve preemptions and posting for national agencies and clients. Maintain relationships with important national advertisers. Develop and maintain strong relationships with local contacts associated with the national advertiser base.
10% – Works closely with the station sales management to price inventory by sharing market competitive and providing accurate forecasting. Provide input to develop the station’s strategic sales plan and budgets as they pertain to national.

Required Skills

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Must have technical proficiency with ratings and strong presentation skills.
• Must be a great communicator with the Gray National Team and station management.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point needed.
• Knowledge of Wide Orbit and OSI helpful.

Education Required

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements
Education – College degree in Business, Marketing or Sales preferred.
Experience – Minimum three years’ experience in Media Sales preferred. National Sales experience also preferred. Previous experience working for a broadcast television station or advertising rep firm helpful but not required.
