Media Sales Coordinator

Job Description

The Media Sales Coordinator position is responsible for helping to identify, mentor, and oversee students in the Department of Communication who are interested in media sales careers. In addition, the position is expected to generate underwriting revenue for WICR Radio and advertising sales for the student newspaper, campus TV channel, and, as needed, other departmental entities. The position is also involved in WICR’s event marketing promotions, fundraising campaigns, and community relationship building.

Required Skills

Five years of professional experience in media sales (including traditional and digital platforms), public media development, or a related field is required. Also required is a desire to mentor and develop students for professional careers in media sales. Knowledge of selling underwriting for non-commercial broadcasting preferred. Sales training and/or teaching experience and media sales certifications (RAB, P1, LBS, etc.) are a plus.

Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Telecommunications, Media, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field is required.
