Local Sales Manager

Job Description

WEVV-TV, the CBS & FOX affiliate in Evansville, Indiana, is looking for a Local Sales Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Help sales team members achieve their revenue, sports, news, new business and digital goals by one-on-one training and assistance.
• Along with the General Sales Manager, create sales packages as needed.
• Help the General Sales Manager monitor inventory.
• Look for additional and creative ways to improve the local sales department.
• Know all key decision makers at client and agency level for all local accounts.
• Maintain a visible presence in the market via personally making sales calls individually as well as with sales team members.
• Approval all orders once they are placed into WideOrbit. This includes checking rates, priority codes, inventory codes and purchase agreements attached to the orders.
• Communicate with the General Sales Manager any pertinent information regarding accounts and employees.
• Hold sales team members accountable to their individual goals.
• Ensure sales team members are meeting performance expectations.
• Train sales team members on all aspects of television sales.
• Teach sales team members how to accomplish revenue, administrative and market share goals.
• Assist sales team members with their weaknesses via teaching and training.
• Teach sales team members how to package and sell the duopoly.
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Required Skills

Minimum of 5 years of experience in TV Sales

Hands on TV advertising sales and operational background is a must

Ability to grow revenue

Strong and positive leadership skills

Highly skilled leader, negotiator and motivator

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Word, Excel, PowerPoint and WideOrbit or OSI preferred

Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree
