Job Description

Assist Regionally Speaking host Chris Nolte with topic development and provide research in advance of an interview
Work independently as well as part of the team with host Chris Nolte to think, plan and execute the program with creativity
Contact potential contributors and interviewees for guest booking and scheduling
Research, produce and serve as host for the weekly news program “Lakeshore Update”
Gather daily and weekly news stories, rewrite and edit for the weekly podcast “Lakeshore Update”
Run audio-board for various day-part programming
Knowledge of local, statewide and national news and events of interest to WLPR listeners
Edit digital content
Assist with time-keeping and saving show recordings
During the live broadcast, direct the host and help control the flow of the show
Create and maintain a daily show log/database to assist with searching for previous show guests/ topics
Provide a monthly update on show guests/topics to the Vice President of Radio
Post content to the Lakeshore Public Radio website
Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

AudioVault automation system
Adobe Audition, Cool Edit Pro, audio editing software
Content management systems (Core Publisher, Grove)

Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree in broadcasting/journalism/communications
